Cans for Christmas is an initiative with a simple goal: to put food on people’s tables at an important time of the year. The drive gives everyone the opportunity to contribute, whether it is one can or ten, every small gesture makes a difference. The initiative began in 2015, when around 4,000 cans were collected from 8 primary schools and 2 secondary colleges in Auckland. By 2018, the drive had grown to over 22,000 cans (equivalent to two full two-ton trucks!), with schools from all around Aotearoa getting involved. This year, our school community has proudly contributed 602 cans to Cans for Christmas. These donations will help support families in need, especially during the Christmas season. A huge thank you to our school community for your generosity and support. Every can donated makes a difference and shows how a small contribution can have a big impact. “It's as simple as one can.”
