Play in South

The Play In South is an event where high school students sit alongside Auckland Philharmonia musicians to rehearse and play a few pieces. It was amazing to have the opportunity to perform with such talented and experienced musicians - from whom I learned a lot . Although I was nervous at first, I became more confident as we rehearsed the pieces and learned the importance of teamwork, active listening and adjusting when performing in an orchestra; I was able to experience what it was like to play the pieces I often listen to. Being surrounded by APO members also motivated me to challenge myself and improve my own skills. Overall, the experience was both rewarding and inspiring, and I am grateful to have been part of such a special performance while representing St. Ignatius for the first time.
